Youth & Children

Davis_BobGreetings and thanks for checking us out!

As our Senior Pastor consistently reminds us, God knows the plans God has for you, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)”.

With that in mind, you are invited to join “The Luke” Youth as we hook up with God (Worship), connect with one another (Fellowship), reach out to others (Service), and discover ourselves in Christ (Discipleship).

We affirm you! We love you! We certainly are praying for you!

Peace,
Pastor Bob Davis

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. – Matthew 19:14 NKJV

The Children’s Ministry at St. Luke focuses on teaching the children of our church and community the Word of God and to let them know that God loves them. We are committed to providing a quality Children’s Ministry Program. It is important that children learn and know about God’s love and grace at an early age. We are here to serve, to teach them and guide them all the way on their faith and spiritual journey through our programs and ministries.

Thank you parents, and community for allowing us to minister to your child (children). It is our Christian duty to provide opportunities for your child (children) to receive knowledge of Jesus Christ and to grow spiritually in that relationship. Our programs are designed to help make church an enjoyable place, a place where learning comes to life.

We are growing and we want you to be a part of that growth. Our Children’s Ministry ranges from new birth to the fifth grade. We hope you can find a ministry that you would enjoy working in with your child (children). Also, our Movers and Shakers Ministry, is a support ministry to help in providing a loving Christian learning atmosphere and environment for the Children of St. Luke and the community.

Through the ministries provided and as we partner with you, we pray that children who graduate from the Children’s Ministry will be students of God’s Word as well as willing workers. It is important that children know and experience the value of daily Bible Reading, Scripture Memory, and Christian Service in church, in their community, and in the world. We hope their learning experiences at St. Luke will become precious memories that will last a lifetime.

Plan to visit with your child (children) in Children’s Church any Sunday of your choice. You are welcome! Children’s Church is every second and fourth Sunday at 11:00am in the Fellowship Hall. We also need parents to volunteer to help with the special activities. The Children’s Ministry Leaders are total involved and committed to providing quality Christian experiences for our children; however they do need volunteers to help.

For more information about the Children’s Ministry please call us at 214-887-3929.

Children's Planning Council
----------------------------------
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. – Philippians 4:13

The Children’s Planning Council is a group of parents who commit to a minimum of one-year term of serving as part of a support group. The council is designed to give parents a more direct line of communication into the Children’s Ministries and also to impact the decisions made on behalf of the Children’s Ministry. The council makes recommendations on programming issues and other matters involving the children of St. Luke and the children of the surrounding community. The group supports the Children’s Ministries, and serve as a core base of volunteers.

New Birth Ministry
--------------------------
“That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, That they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments.”
Psalms 78: 6-8 NKJV

The New Birth Ministry provides support to parents of newborns and adopted children. The ministry also provides counseling and overall support to parents with an emphasis on first-time parents. Annually in January the ministry recognizes all newborns and adopted children in a special celebration during the scheduled worship services. You may register your child by contacting the pastoral office.

We believe that God calls us to excel in everything we do, including our academic endeavors.
